Wind Power

CURSE OR BLESSING?

There is hardly any topic more controversial than the expansion of wind energy. Wherever wind turbines are erected, local residents are often worried about their health and the health of their environment. As a result, the shift in energy policy towards climate-friendly provision is jeopardized.

What truth is there in the criticisms of wind power opponents? And how is it that the inhabitants of neighbouring communities can react completely differently to wind farms on their doorsteps? Is there a solution to the conflict?

Just before the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia the film takes a serious look at the concerns of people living close to wind farms. Filmmaker Herbert Ostwald poses searching questions and comes up with some surprising answers.
