Protecting species – but how?

A NEW MASTERPLAN FOR NATURE

The work of well-known ecologists and biodiversity researchers proves: a new way of thinking is needed in the fight against the extinction of animal and plant species. The ideal of “nature best left to its own resources” is too romantic, experts emphasize. The protection of endangered species often requires human intervention instead: the felling of trees, the management of habitats. Michael R. Gärtner’s film shows exemplary nature conservation projects in Germany and France.
