In Germany, if you’re ill and looking for a cure, you have a choice of entrusting your health to a doctor or to a non-medical practitioner, a naturopath. There are about 47,000 naturopaths in the country – and they enjoy great popularity. Many people see them – unlike orthodox physicians – as ‘gentle’ and ‘natural’.

But few people know that there are no obligatory standards of training for naturopaths. Compared with doctors they have only narrow-gauge training behind them. Nevertheless, they can treat patients with serious illnesses – even cancer. The film shows how this can lead to tragic mistakes and even fatalities.
