DO I HAVE TO LOOK AFTER MY PARENTS?

What does it mean to care for elderly parents at home? Are we obliged to do this? When should I get support and how? Georg Wieghaus asks these questions in his touching documentary next Wednesday. For many months, he accompanied Ulrike (63) and Christel (62) as they cared for their elderly parents. A task that they have taken on as a matter of course – and which pushes them to their physical and mental limits. Eight out of ten people in need of care in Germany are looked after by relatives. Most of them are women. Without them, our state care system would collapse.
