VERY BRITISH NRW

BRITONS IN NORTH RHINE-WESTPHALIA

The history of North Rhine-Westphalia is inextricably linked with the former occupying power, Great Britain. In the Second World War, the British arrived as victors in a devastated country. They stayed and stationed tens of thousands of soldiers. The typically British way of life and their sense of humour left a lasting impression on the people of NRW – as did visits by the Queen and massive military parades. The film embarks on a journey to trace this history, asking the question: How British is NRW today?
