THE AASEE

It is Münster’s meeting place, front garden, sailing water and open-air gallery – in short: the Aasee is the heart of Münster and the great love of the people of Münster. Planned as a concrete rainwater retention basin, it has been lovingly adopted by the city’s residents. People party, jog, skate and sail at the Aasee – right in the heart of the city. Almost everyone in Münster has a personal story connected to the “puddle” – as the city’s sailors call their body of water. One is a very special love story: Swan Petra fell in love with a swan-shaped pedalo. The Aasee – a piece of home in NRW.
